A committed philanthropist, in 2014 Boeree co-founded Raising for Effective Giving, a charitable organisation which raises money through the poker community for a host of non-profits. Of her charitable work Boeree says, "the money won in poker can do so much more [...]. By donating a portion of these winnings to highly effective charities, it helps the people and issues that are in most desperate need."

More than just a pretty face, Boeree rides horses, plays the electric guitar, models, works as a presenter and has a first class honours degree in Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Manchester. In 2011 she appeared on the celebrity Christmas edition of University Challenge.
Boeree was introduced to the poker industry when she was selected as one of five contestants for Channel 5's reality TV show Ultimatepoker.com Showdown. Five years later she won the 2010 European Poker Tour, taking home the equivalent of $1,700,000. She is currently ranked #2 on the ladies Global Poker Index and #6 on the female all-time live poker winnings rich list.
