XL Eclipse is Back with 34 Enticing Events!

From September 13-23, 888poker is proud to host the next edition of the XL Eclipse, a series comprised of 34 exciting events!

The online festival will kick off on Thursday, September 13 at 18:00 with the $109 buy-in Event #1: Opening Event and will culminate with a $1,050 buy-in, Main Event at 18:00 on Sunday, September 23.

In between are a slew of other tournaments including the $88 buy-in Event #6: Crazy 8 (Saturday, Sept. 15 at 18:00); $160 buy-in Event #10: Tune Up (Sunday, Sept. 16 at 18:00); $215 buy-in Event #22: Quarterback (Thursday, Sept. 20 at 18:00); and the $160 buy-in Event #28: 6-Max (Saturday, Sept. 22 at 18:00).

High Rolling the XL Eclipse

Another highlight on the schedule is the $2,600 buy-in Event #16: High Roller, which will take place at 18:00 on Tuesday, September 18. It’s a tournament sure to attract stellar competition, including two of our very own.

“I think the High Roller is the most prestigious,” 888poker Ambassador Chris Moorman said when asked about the schedule. “You are battling against the best of the best, so whoever wins this will have earned it.”

Fellow ambassador and 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Martin Jacobson was right there with him: “Definitely the High Roller as the higher buy-in brings the tougher competition.”

Win Up to $1,000,000 for Special Achievements

As well as some great tournaments, we’re excited to offer players a chance at additional prizes. For instance, anyone who wins two events will get a $1,000 bonus. If someone can take down three, there’s $10,000 waiting for them, while anyone lucky enough to capture four XL Eclipse titles will earn $100,000.

Finally, a $1,000,000 bonus awaits any player who is able to bag five XL Eclipse titles!

But that’s not all! Reach the final table in three or more events, and you’ll get a $600 tournament ticket, and if you make the money in eight or more events, you’ll get a $215 tournament ticket.

Revisiting Last Year’s XL Eclipse

A lot has changed in the past year, including the XL Championships reducing the number of events in each series. For example, last year’s XL Eclipse Series was comprised of 197 events, and while it was a success, players let it be known they prefer quality over quantity.

The 2017 XL Eclipse Main Event attracted 1,149 players who rebought 413 times, which created a total prize pool of $1,562,000. Among those to compete were Ruben “rubenrtv” Visser, Adrian “ADRI_ATM” Mateos, and Thomas “WushuTM” Muehloecker, just to name a few. In the end, Germany’s “CllsDntMttr” came out on top to capture a $273,038 first-place prize.

Other highlights from last year’s series include “spider444” winning the $5,200 Super High Roller for $170,500, Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskyi taking down the $2,100 High Roller for $107,500, and “Farrugia_1” coming out on top in the $160 Tune Up for $41,175.
