Brazil’s DantonGames Wins XL Autumn Main Event
This past weekend was the culmination of the $250 buy-in, $500K GTD 888poker XL Autumn Series Main Event. The tournament attracted 1,756 players who rebought 266 times. The 2,002-entry field meant the $500,000 prize pool was paid out to the top 240 finishers.
That included six $5,000 bounties, two $15,000 bounties, and a top bounty prize of $50,000! That top bounty hit just 15 minutes into play when Finland’s “Inflaatio” claimed the five-figure score.
They wound up finishing in 107th place for $475. Along with some other bounties, they walked away with a tournament-high of $51,020.16.

Rounding out the final table as the short stack with 605,798 (6 bb) was Ukraine’s “sezon1th”.
Action was fast and furious. It took just an hour to crown a winner. Despite starting the final table second in chips, “slmzrj” was the first to fall in a series of eliminations.
The short-stacked “sezon1th” was able ladder into fifth place before running ace-jack suited into the two red jacks of “DantonGomes”.
The final three players struck a deal to lock up some prize money, and then they battled for the title.
After “Kostya_jock” exited in third place, it came down to “IOwnU888” and “DantonGomes”.
In the final hand of the tournament, the former got it in with king-seven against the eight-six of the latter. Two more eights on the flop essentially sealed the deal for “DantonGomes”.
