888poker has done it again with our $100 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD Millions Superstorm Main Event, which ran from March 1 through 22! It was definitely one for the records books and will go down in history as the lowest buy-in tournament on 888poker to surpass a $1,000,000 guarantee.
For the past three weeks, 888poker held a daily opening flight with a total 11,618 combined entrants took to the felt to crush the guarantee, generating a $1,068,856 prize pool.
In total, we gave away a whopping $2,000,000 plus during this fantastic, one-of-a-kind promotion which included the Main Event, BLAST tourneys and other cash prizes.
Millions Superstorm Action
On Sunday, the 2,202 surviving players from all starting flights combined for Day 2 action, and after 10 hours and 36 minutes of play it was Russia’s “zaSPARTAK” besting Lithuania’s “Raise1In.” in heads-up play to win the title and $112,234.54 first-place prize.
You might recall that last year, the Russian victor went deep in the XL Blizzard Event #13: $20,000 Late Tune-Up, ultimately finishing fifth in the 541-entry field for $1,514.80. His latest prize was nearly 100 times that score.
Meanwhile, the final table proved to be an international affair with two players each from Brazil and the UK, while five other countries were represented, including Belarus, Malta, and Germany.

With the top 1,250 players slated to get paid, nearly a thousand players needed to fall before the money was made. Among those to fall short of making the money were Anton “anteen” Bertilsson, “GangastaGo,” “KURDEdersim,” “plomaha,” Joao Mathias “joao_mathias” Baumgarten, “SkallePer58,” and Ian “Simpioni” Simpson.

Galaxy of Freerolls Are Coming!
