BLAST Poker has been wildly successful on 888poker since they were added to our stable of poker games earlier in the year. The four-handed Sit & Go format may be simple but the prizes that can be won certainly are not!
With that in mind, we have decided to up the ante. Scheduled to start on December 26th for a limited time only, we’re raising the possible prize pool on BLAST poker tables to $1,000,000!
What is BLAST Poker?
In a nutshell, BLAST is a 4-handed, super-turbo No Limit Hold’em Sit & Go. But we didn’t stop there when we came up with this novel concept. To add a bit of a twist, we don’t let players see the prize pool on offer until the game starts – thereby adding to the nail-biting suspense.
And, with prize pools of up to 10,000 times the buy-in, it’s no wonder that this new poker craze has taken the poker world by storm with millions of games being played since its inception.
At the start of each poker hand, there is a draw that determines if the prize money will be double the buy-in up to ten thousand times the buy-in. In addition, the assigned multiplier will determine the blind structure, prize pool distribution and the BLAST timer. Blast Timer, you might ask?
Well, there’s another dimension to this innovative format. Once the BLAST Time clock expires, players are automatically placed all-in every hand until just one player is left standing.
Big, Big Winners
Since BLAST hit the 888poker tables, we have had several big winners. Buy-in ranges in these SNGs are 10¢, $1, $5, $15 and $30 and the biggest multipliers have been hit multiple times in the $5 and$ $30 buy-ins.
$300K & $50K Hit on Same Weekend
In November, during a single weekend, two whopping prize pools of $300,000 and $50,000 were hit at $30 buy-in and $5 buy-in tables by 8 very lucky 888poker players.
In the 300K game, the top payout of $180,000 went to Swedish player, bucopepic, taking down runner-up sreutov from Russia, who didn't do too shabbily either with a $60,000 payday. Third and fourth place finishers walked away with $30K each.
In the second big win that same weekend, player Mn79Ben, an 888poker member for 2 years hailing from Malaysia, hit it big in a BLAST SnG with a $50K prize pool.
The last hand featured an all-in with Mn79Ben holding two black Queens up against Ah6c. The pocket Queens held, and Mn79Ben took home the top prize of $30,000.
Second-place finisher, mario868116 from Russia bagged $10,000 and 4th and 5th place each received $5,000.
$300K & $150K Hit During 8-Day Spell
On August 28, 888poker player lepeno78 hit it massively in a $15 BLAST Sit & Go. After signing up, all 4 players were more than likely shocked to see that they’d be playing for a whopping $150,000, with $90,000 up top.
Lepeno78’s tip to winning big in these types of events? “…be patient and observant."
Then 8 days later, on September 3, another top prize pool was hit at a BLAST Poker table. 723bluebell entered a $30 BLAST game, completely unaware that the $30 buy-in would offer them the chance at a piece of $300,000 in cold hard cash. They walked away with the top prize of $180,000.
