888poker’s Third The Festival Online Series Awards Nearly $1.2M in Prize Money!

The PokerListings The Festival Online Series, which kicked off on July 16 on 888poker, wrapped up this past weekend. The series catered to a combined 21,004 entrants and awarded $1,181,735 in prize money, through 51 tracked events,

• Players from Brazil performed the best capturing 13 titles.
• The United Kingdom and Canada tied with six apiece (one player was responsible for half of the latter’s – more on that below).
• Belarus and Romania each had four titles.
• Malta was on the board with three.
• Thailand had just the two.

Rounding it out with a single title for their homeland were players from Sri Lanka, Lithuania, Thailand, Ukraine, Finland, Cyprus, Sweden, Montenegro, Moldova, and Germany.

Here’s a look at some of the big winners and storylines from the final week of The Festival Online Series.

GoodStoryDMG Rides FT Chip Lead to Main Event Victory!

The festival culminated with a $250 buy-in $200K GTD multi-flight Main Event. That tournament featured multiple Day 1 flights that ran from July 26-31, with Day 2 taking place on July 31 at 20:00 GMT.

All told, the tournament drew 856 players who rebought 160 times. So, the 1,016-entry field generated a $238,760 prize pool.

That was paid out to the top 96 finishers including –

• “alexos888” (44^th place for $955.04)
• “Fackedelic” (33^rd place for $978.91)
• “kiskutya23” (24^th place for $1,265.42)
• “Reggie_Degen” (19^th place for $1,265.42)
• “BalticMouse” (15^th place for $2,101.08)
• “Clay_Born” (11^th place for $2,745.74)
• “ParttimeF1sh” (9^th place for $3,629.15)

The final eight players then went on an overnight hiatus, Belarus’ “GoodStoryDMG” led the pack with 3,131,478. That decent amount was ahead of Sweden’s Jerry “Perrymejsen” Odeen, who sat second with 2,594,176.

The only other two players with seven-figure stacks were Brazil’s “Luiz1958” (1,211,765) and Lithuania’s “Mukonga” (1,010,120).

Meanwhile, the other four players sat in six-figure territory –

• Lithuania’s “MyNumber7” (748,302)
• Canada’s “LegitNit” (699,186)
• Romania’s “_UpToNoGOOD_” (595,404)
• Malta’s “AUTISPOSTI” (169,569)

On Tuesday, August 1, the final table played out on the 888pokerTV live stream. As expected, the short stacks busted fairly quickly.

Odeen wound up finishing in fourth place for $16,068.54 and was followed out the door by “LegitNit” in third for $22,013.67.

That left “GoodStoryDMG” and “Luiz1958” to do battle heads up. The former put their final table chip lead to good use by closing it out with a victory, good for $41,305.83.

The $160 buy-in, $150K GTD Event #31: Mystery Bounty had multiple Day 1 flights that ultimately saw 953 players rebuy 135 times. The 1,088-entry field surpassed the guarantee by offering up a $163,200 prize pool, including a top bounty prize of $15,000.

That wound up going to Cyprus’ “shash0s21”, who not only won the big bounty, but also took down the entire tournament for $15,258.60.

 Along with some other bounties, they walked away with $32,066.46 in total prize money.

Canada’s algsxr Claims 3^rd Title of the Series

It was a great series for Canada’s “algsxr”, who won not one, not two, but three titles!

• The first came on Wednesday, July 19^th when they topped a 104-entry field to win Event #15: $109 PKO for $2,345.
• The following day. they bested a 78-entry field to win Event #17: $320 Mystery Bounty High Roller for $6,161.50.

Then, on Tuesday, July 25, Event #32: $320 High Roller attracted 50 players who rebought 23 times. The $21,900 prize pool went to the top dozen finishers, and among those to cash for $602.25 apiece but fall short of the final table were the following –

• “def11” (12^th place)

After six and a half hours of play, “algsxr” defeated Sweden’s “SkallePer58” in heads-up play to win $5,967.75 and their third title of the series!

Two Titles in Two Days for Brazil’s vireiadulto7

On Sunday, July 30, the $525 buy-in Event #48: Mystery Bounty High Roller Finale saw 55 players rebuy 20 times. The 75-entry field resulted in a $37,500 prize pool that went to the top 12 finishers.

Some familiar names to earn a payday were the following –
