We’re bringing out the sunshine in May as we head to the next 888poker LIVE stop – Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Catalonia, Spain!
The latest 888poker LIVE Festival will run from 12 through 23 May, with the €1,100 buy-in Main Event capping things off from 19 - 23 May.
We’ll be welcoming the whole team of 888poker Ambassadors and Streamers, along with special guests including, Daniel Cates (Jungle Man), Maria Ho and Michael Mizrachi. This event will be kicked up a notch as 888poker celebrates 20 years of prominence in the poker industry.
And adding the stature of the festival, we’ve included a prestigious €5,300 buy-in High Roller tournament to up the ante.
Previous events have also taken place at the illustrious Casino Barcelona. In 2019, Italian Gabriele Rossi walked away with the top Main Event prize of €110,000 ($123,121) and the winner’s trophy.
Barcelona: Sports, Arts, Entertainment!
Barcelona is located in the northeast region of Spain called Catalonia. It’s a fantastic place to visit as a tourist – and as a poker player. The city boasts -renowned structures like the Sagrada Família. Designed by famed Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The city is also dotted with museums and beautifully manicured city parks. Say you need inspiration or time to quietly reflect before heading to the poker tables. The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc can provide a place to kick back.
Barcelona doesn’t skimp on nightlife either. There are plenty of bars and clubs to keep any poker player entertained. Las Ramblas – Old Town - is a newcomer’s dream. If sophistication is what you’re after, then El Born is where you’d prefer to high roll. For the crazier and edgier poker players, El Raval is your five-bet preflop haven!
And, if sports is your thing – Barcelona has a long sporting tradition. FC Barcelona, one of the largest and second richest football clubs in the world, calls the city home.
