In 2022, 888poker has made further upgrades to our software, giving players even more reason to enjoy playing on the platform.
The software is state-of-the-art with an intuitive user interface and powered by our exclusive proprietary technology.
Improvements to the tournament schedule have made it more player-friendly, with affordable buy-ins and higher guarantees. Our online and live poker series were wildly successful in 2022, with millions in prize money awarded across various events.
The Retro Week Series held in March 2022 pair homage to our iconic tournaments over the past 20 years. When all was said and done, the series smashed the $888,000 guarantee, awarding over $1,000,000.
Also, as part of our 20th-anniversary celebrations, we sent thirty-four 888poker qualifiers and team ambassadors to play the WSOP Main Event. Twenty of their stories were documented in our 20 Years, 20 Stories.
888poker Year 2022 in Review
Not only did we improve our current market status, but we also expanded our global reach – in particular, focusing on Brazil, and Ontario, Canada.
Regarding our roster of ambassadors, 888poker looked to add influencers and personalities in addition to poker professionals. As such, we added boxing champ Chris Eubank Ir., YouTube personality Jack “JaackMaate” Dean and Brazilian YouTuber Influencer Cauê Moura as Cultural Ambassadors.
With our continued focus on social media, we introduced the 888 StreamTeam and relaunched the 888pokerTV Twitch channel.
With shows ranging from streaming coverage of both online and live events to poker strategy and hand analysis content, the channel has grown in leaps and bounds over the past year.
The Play with Friends weekly Sit & Go on Twitch and Focus Fridays on our YouTube channel have been particularly successful.
We have further strengthened our efforts to create a fairer and more balanced playing experience. Implementing new technology and growing our dedicated Fair Gaming team has expedited this process.
2022 has been a topsy-turvy ride for many in the poker industry. So, we are grateful to have had significant success despite the many challenges.
